You can never have too many hats darling! hats, hats, hats. I’m a huge hat lover, more people should wear hats don’t you think? I love a unique hat, these hats I have made from recycled denim jeans; interesting? Of course they are It’s like stamping an exclamation mark on your outfit and besides it hides a bad hair day AND lets not forget about recycling. Win!
Each hat is different from the next using the majority of the jean fabric only really leaving behind the seams, zip and some small denim scraps. Minimal wastage.
Each hat is lined and like a well-worn pair of jeans I can only imagine that over time the hat will look and feel just like your favourite pair of jeans.
Sometimes people don’t want to part with their favourite jeans especially after learning that they’re no longer fashionably acceptable to wear under your muffin top, under your butt or up around your armpits so, turning them into a hat makes sense instead of adding to landfill.
Enough babble from me, these hats are available for purchase in my Etsy store and if you do have a sentimental pair of jeans that you no longer wear but can’t seem to part with get in touch.
I’m also thinking of trying out a much tougher needle in my machine to sew those thick jean seams onto the seams of the hat and I need to invest in some of the matching jean thread to make these hat’s look exactly how I really want them to look. But for now these three hats I’m quite happy with.
I’m thinking of playing around with them more adding recycled belts, patches, bandana’s and what not. I love them. I’m hoping there are others out there that like them too.
