This past week has been an absolute fun fest, I’ve managed to take photos to show you just how fabulous my week has been. Have a peek if you will.
On Wednesday night I ventured out to see The Gaslight Anthem and Social Distortion at the very stylish Palace Theatre, what a gig! Seeing Social Distortion was one to mark off my list of ‘bands to see’ They did not disappoint, what a set. So many great songs, Mike Ness is rather awesome. I am pleased as punch to of been able to sing along to The Gaslight Anthems brilliant set. American Slang is a killer album.
Friday night I did a spot of sewing. For me sewing is therapeutic. I love to stare at the fabrics in Spotlight, especially the quilting range and imagine up some fancy clothing designs, most of them are far beyond my skill level but hey!! there is nothing wrong with dreaming fancy.
My little babies —who are growing up too quickly, and myself took to the camera chair and took some fun snaps together. I think my son could easily be a comedian he is often reciting The Young Ones and The Mighty Boosh at the most oddest of moments, he definitely has a fun outlook on life with an attitude to boot he makes me smile.
I always have time for a Margarita and I tend to drink them quick I can’t help it. She’s my ‘end of the working week ‘ drink. Yum!
I’m on the mailing list over at Polyester Records so I can keep up to speed with the latest releases yadda yadda and I’m rather glad I am; a Polyester email popped into my bursting inbox with the title ‘We have 50 free double passes to see Best Coast this Sunday at our City Store’ reply and you can win- subscribers only. Woo hoo, bummed that I missed out on tickets to see their main shows I thought why not. The next day I had a ‘congrats to you’ email. LUCKY GIRL RIGHT HERE!!! The catch was you had to pick up your ticket from their Fitzroy store, I have no problem with that, I’ll make a day of it with my beautiful kiddies!!! so we stopped at Django Django for a light lunch, picked up the pass from Polyester and went shopping, ha ha look at them all shopped out.
My hubby plays a mean round of golf, a handy-cap of 7. On Saturday he played the final round of the club championships and finished up third, a mighty effort I say.
I was reading on Design Files that Todd Selby of The Selby was doing a book signing at The Compound Interest in Collingwood, what an impressive art space. Naturally I had to make my way to hear this fabulous blogger /photographer talk about some of the places he had shot in his fantastic book. He spoke about how some of the celebrities had already thought about how they would like to be shot and Todd just goes in and shoots how they want to be perceived but still keeping it real to give you the feel of how they live in their abodes. Karl Lagerfeld’s book collection just blows my mind. Todd was decked out in purple looking very casual in his PAM T-shirt, so good of him to wear an Australian label. Yep!!! and I had my book signed.
A quick bike ride to clear my head was in need and I also needed to return some DVD’s that were well over due arrr.
Sunday my daughter and I headed to the city to see Best Coast play their set at Polyester Records. A coffee and Little Cupcakes is a must.
Best Coast played a fantastic set, I would imagine doing something as intimate as this would of been more nerve racking than hiding behind big spot lights, they were awesome. Thank you Polyester Records. Edie was pleased as punch to get her photo taken with Best Coast and had to keep pinching herself to make sure it was real, she was told she had a cool mum!! he he, yeah I wasn’t that cool when I couldn’t get up from the cold floor, I felt like my hip was jammed. I managed to get my vinyl signed and then we headed off home. What a fantastic week.
