It’s my favourite time, school holidays. I always shake my head in disbelief at the mums who complain about the school holidays, having their kids around them for two whole weeks, oh the horror. Personally, I don’t get it. For me it’s my favourite time, I know it wont be long before they wont want to spend time with me it’ll be all about them and their friends, so I soaking it all up before it disappears.
We packed a picnic basket and headed straight to Luna Park for the day. The kiddies got an all-day pass and patiently waited in the queues for their turn on the big roller coaster. I sat and tried to read my book, I kind of wanted to wrap my hands around this womens throat for barking profanities at her toddlers, if only she could her herself. I pulled out the ear plugs and shut myself off from her never ending obnoxious orders. It had to be done or I would of said something.
My little man came back with a huge surprise for me in the form of vomit which dangled from his hair and spread strategically across the front of his torso down across his thighs and onto his volleys, he was all kinds of green. He was wearing corduroy too so you can only imagine how hard it was for me to wash his pants down in the public loo. He survived, hopping straight back onto the Pirate Ship for another round.
I’ve been longing for Day Light Savings, I like to bike ride or go for a jog in the afternoons, that extra hour sure does make a huge difference to your day. We dusted off the bikes and headed for the park.
My kids think I take too many photos, I can’t help it, I like to document everything. Besides, they love looking back on their adventures so they’re just going to have to handle the fact that mum is a photo-snapping maniac.
How could I not take this photo? She was reading excerpts from Puberty Blues and he was laughing at the rude bits, now there’s a photo opportunity and a memory to keep for ever, right?
and this one? how could I let this moment slide? a bored beautiful teenager waiting to go out to dinner for her dads birthday. Nope! I’m sorry, but snap!
We walked down to our favourite local Irish bar and celebrated Dad’s birthday in style. it’s always in style. He’s like the best thing ever!
we wandered home—a little side ways I must admit, with sparklers to guide our way.
Note to self: keep your hands out of photos. Yes! I have the hands of an 80 year old, why I constantly let them make an appearance on these ‘Currently Working On’ shots I’ll never know. We’re sewing ‘western inspired’ this week. I finished mine a couple of days ago, I am really pleased with the outcome. Hopefully the weather permits so we can snap a couple of photo’s.
and that’s it… hope your weekend is a smash. I’m off to clean the bits of thread that look to be climbing the walls in my house, we have visitors coming in a couple of weeks, I should clean the windows and the bottom of the fridge but I really want to sew this idea I have swimming around in my head. I’m sure they won’t notice the windows if I close the blinds and offer to get them drinks myself right?

Look at your babies!!! Makes me wanna squeeze mine.. Too fast. But I guess you’re still leaning up vomit?
. And happy B day to Da Man from all of us xoxoxox
Shall do Ally and THANK YOU for all of your comments last week. MWAH!
